Suitcase with Sausage and “Pumpkin –Queen of Table”
More than 27,000 items have been delivered to the Unclaimed Baggage Office at Domodedovo International Airport since the beginning of 2026. The most commonly lost items were chargers and electronic gadgets. In summer, sunglasses and headphones were added to the list, and in autumn – umbrellas, jackets, and raincoats.
The most unusual finds in the first nine months of this year were a suitcase with sausages, a car bumper, and a painting “Pumpkin — Queen of the Table,” 40x50 centimeters
Items found at Domodedovo International Airport are transferred to the Unclaimed Baggage Office by transport security personnel. If an item is found on board of the aircraft, the find is registered and handed over by the airline’s flight attendants. Between January and October 2026, about 30% of the items have been returned to their owners.
The storage period for forgotten items depends on where they were left: 30 days for items found on airport premises; 6 months for personal belongings left on board; 6 months for unclaimed items. After this period, the items are disposed of.
The unclaimed baggage storage room at Domodedovo Airport is located in sector D, next to the arrival area for domestic flights; the nearest entrance is №5.
