Ethiopian Airlines expands geography for travelers from Russia
Starting from July 12, Ethiopian Airlines open new destinations that may be of interest to Russian tourists. The airline is expanding the geography of flights from its base airport in Addis Ababa to Mauritius, Mozambique and Oman. In addition to the sixth flight frequency on Wednesdays from Domodedovo, these routes will be popular with Russian tourists, said Elena Konstantinova, Senior Sales and Marketing Manager at Ethiopian Airlines in Russia, at a round table for representatives of the travel industry, which was held at Domodedovo Airport.
The journey time to Oman will take 26 hours, of which 17 hours are in transit. On this route, tourists can make a stop and spend time in the capital of Ethiopia thanks to the free Stopover service by Ethiopian Airlines, which includes accommodation in a 4* or 5* hotel, transfer from the airport to the hotel and two meals a day. An Ethiopian visa is not required for transit for up to 24 hours, and this time is enough for sightseeing in the capital. Vouchers for a "stopover", including the name of the hotel, are issued at the check-in desks in Domodedovo or at the airport of departure on the way back to Moscow.
Transit time at Addis Ababa Airport for passengers to Mauritius and Mozambique arriving on a Moscow flight is 3 and 4 hours, respectively. Departures from Domodedovo for subsequent transit to Mauritius within the framework of one itinerary receipt will be performed on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Travel time is 16 hours and 50 minutes. For transit to Mozambique, flights from Domodedovo are operated daily except Sundays. Travel time is 16 hours and 30 minutes.

Ethiopia is famous for its variety of attractions: from majestic mountains and volcanic landscapes to historic cities. For example, Lalibela is an Ethiopian labyrinthine "New Jerusalem", hand–carved into the rock, its origin dates back to the arrival of Christianity around 350 AD. Simien Mountains National Park, with an area of 412 square kilometers, is one of the best trekking destinations in Ethiopia. A visa for travel to Ethiopia is issued for tourists at the Addis Ababa airport and costs only $ 80.
Since June 24, Ethiopian Airlines have been increasing the frequency of flights to Domodedovo International Airport to six per week, with flights added on Wednesdays. Flights will be operated daily, except Sundays. Flight ET-761 departs at 21:30 Moscow time on a Boeing 787-800 (Dreamliner) aircraft. An increased baggage allowance is available for all passengers — 2 seats of 23 kg each.
