From Domodedovo Airport straight to Nawruz celebrations
Moscow Domodedovo Airport has prepared an overview of air routes to Central Asia and Transcaucasia on the eve of Nowruz, the day of the vernal equinox and the beginning of agricultural work, which is celebrated on 21st March by the Turkic-speaking and Iranian peoples. Nowruz is a public holiday in Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and a number of other countries.
Bishkek and Osh are among the most popular destinations for flights from Domodedovo Airport. Up to 29 flights are operated weekly to Kyrgyzstan. Flights to both cities are operated daily by ‘Avia Traffic Company’ and ‘Ural Airlines’.
Transcaucasian and Central Asian destinations keep attracting ever more interest from travelers every year. Thus, in the first two months of 2025, passenger traffic to Azerbaijan increased by 8%, to Turkmenistan – by 20%, and to Uzbekistan – by 46% as compared to the same period last year.
